THE POLISHED HOE
The Polished Hoe is a unique twist on the themes of love, regret and revenge. Not since Shakespeare have all those elements been combined into such a compelling story.
The Polished Hoe is the story of a mistress who waits a lifetime to enact revenge on two men – the one who raped her when she was still a child, and the man who still loves her. Set on a fictitious Caribbean island in 1952, it is a post-colonial slavery tale containing intrigue, murder, romance, sex, and a really spectacular hurricane.
The target demographic is women – 20-45 years old – and like Austin Clarke's award-winning novel, the film version of the Polished Hoe is a great story, well told.
